Week 10, Day 3

There were many things that led the US to join the war. There was a lot of provocation from Japan as early as Dec. 1937 when they sunk an American gunboat, the Panay, in Chinese waters. And the attack on Dec. 7, 1941 on Pearl Harbor provided further reason to go to war with Japan. Overseas, Britain was also a weight on our backs. They were being attacked by Germany and many Americans insisted that we help Britain. Germany made it easier for us to go to war when they sunk some of our ships with their U-boars in Sept. 1941.
