Week 11, Day 1

With the Great Depression now over the coming of WWII gave opportunity to many jobs. During the war industries opened their doors and most of what was being made was for the war. There were many new factories manufacturing weapons and other things for the military and this gave way for new jobs for many Americans. By 1943, six million women were working jobs in the workforce. This is where "Rosie the Riveter" came in as a symbol for women during WII. She was a mythical heroine and a sign of hard work from women.
