The Blitzkrieg battle, or lighting war, was more of an on going strategy rather than an actual event. The Germans were the one's that used this method and it won them many battles. What happens during this is a concentration of power and this concentration of power penetrates the country that is being attacked. This makes it hard for the defending country to protect themselves because it is an all out force that is attacking them. The "Blitzkrieg" battles happened in the invasion of Poland in 1939 and in the invasion of the Soviet Union, 1941.
The Battle of Dunkirk was a part of the battle of France and in Dunkirk, it was more of an evacuation and defense of British and allied soldiers. Germany was coming and from the looks of it they were already going to win. As a response the allies tried to do everything they could to save as much men as they could from Dunkirk. They sent all sorts of craft to go and carry the troops. This evacuation was looked as a miracle to many since they were able to evacuate so many.
