Week 12, Day 1
Island Hopping was a strategy that the U.S. used when they went to the Pacific to liberate the Philippines. The main idea and key point to Island Hopping was capturing the most important islands. The term "hopping" is used because it is a continuous capturing of islands from the air. D-Day was also approached by the air but it was different than "Island Hopping" in that it wasn't a spread out attack and how it was more of a concentrated assault onto the land. Both events were similar in the arrival of attack but differed greatly
